cant remember
Project Finally Due!
handed our projects in today. because sarah lees was late we all got a chance to look around at everyone else's projects which was really good and very useful, gave us all some good ideas. had to present our final project i was pleased with my outcome and so i was fine presenting it - its only when my work is crap i hate talk about it, which is always quite motivating!
we were set our new project which sounds incredibly confusing. basically we had to look at the shakers theory but our actual project was nothing to do with shakers, we have to creat our own theory.
after hours of thinking mine is "totally laid back, yet distinctively edgy" inspired mainly by this image below.

fabric swatches
Presenting Fabric Swatches
monday we presented the fabric swatches we bought in london. sarah lees knowledge of the different types of fabrics is amazing. our group had a ton of fabric swatches.
ive been looking at the A/W 08 colection by Georgio Armani and this makes up the basic inspiration for the way in which my folk shirt project is going.
Project is due next week, sketch book is done need to do my design board and flat drawings.

London trip
London Trip: Fabric Sourcing

why people who work in small little fabric shops are so unbelievably full of themselves i dont quite understand. all they do is sell it, they didn't make it or design it and they probably can't afford to buy it either! the first store we turned up at told as they only gave out swatches before 12 noon - it was 3 minuets past. the next shop told us not to touch ANYTHING, and "couldn't" provide us with a price for swatches. we eventually found a shop who realised that despite us being students we weren't actually vermin! we bought bags of swatches it was £2 a bag and you got about 6 swatches per bag so we got all our swatches in one go!
we then went and got lunch at a nice pub and spent the rest of the day in topshop - where we lost Laura several times!

Flat Drawings on Illustrator:
we learnt how to create our flat drawings in illustrator - personally i prefer drawing by hand, but this way is alot more precise and accurate.
